We Learn By Doing...
Our Approach
The Chloe Day School and Wellness Center is a Reggio Emilia-inspired progressive, inclusive, trauma-informed preschool and community wellness space that embraces families and individuals from all backgrounds. Our preschool and wellness space takes a progressive, trauma-informed – approach to learning, child development, healing, and family empowerment. We believe that children are intrinsically curious and can make meaningful discoveries when given opportunities to explore, play, and experience their environment.

Our Wellness Center, the Healing Space, is a wellness collective aimed at helping the Harlem community find healing from trauma and intergenerational trauma. By supporting people in being intentional about their healing and wellness, we take a person-centered approach to our work.
We believe it truly takes a village to raise a child.

Our two’s program is designed to foster a sense of community and positive social interactions in a small, home-like environment.
Chloe Day School cultivates a community of empathy through a progressive curriculum that focuses on self-expression, sharing, and teaching children the language they need to succeed in their daily interactions.

Our small classroom sizes allow our two-year-olds to bond with their educators and with peers, through play, small and large group projects, and varied special activities and trips.
Daisies
Three-Year-Olds

3-K students learn about sharing and friendships. They are problem-solvers and helpers. They are working on a project book about their family and their role in the family. Students have classroom jobs, including taking care of classroom pets and plants.
They continue their journey toward independence and becoming critical thinkers as a community. Children share their thoughts and ideas, allowing them to participate actively in their learning. They have a strong sense of ownership in the classroom, which helps build their confidence to tackle challenges that may arise.
They take responsibility for their classroom by having jobs that rotate weekly. We use the environment and materials to empower children to think deeply, take risks and work together.

Poppies
Four-Year-Olds
Our Pre- K students are more independent; they care for their belongings, themselves, each other, and their classroom.
Our Pre-K program offers a unique opportunity for young and enthusiastic learners. We are focusing on the development of skills necessary for success in kindergarten.
Our students build strong foundational knowledge in literacy, mathematics, science, and communication, through play, exploration, and inquiry.
Our program also supports our students' growth as they develop a heightened sense of the world, a desire to be independent, a more substantial critical thinking skill, and the need for social interaction.
We support and teach them how to problem solve, resolve conflict and help to build their confidence through purposeful play and collaborative learning experiences.
Tulips
Coming This Fall 2024

Mixed Three & Four-Year-Olds
The Tulips Classroom will be a mixed-age classrooms (3k & PreK students). As progressive school we follow Dr. Montessori’s “planes of development,” for mixed-age classrooms. There are many benefits for students in a mixed- age classroom benefits like improved academic outcomes, it can boosts social skills, provides stability and host of other benefits. This new classroom room will work to support students in every stage of development as we pilot for a second year this unique learning approach in public education.
3k students will remain with the same teacher and group for a 2-year cycle, allowing educators to better observe the unique needs of students and to more clearly understand and encourage the development of students’ individual learning styles.
